Roald Dahl dress up day!

Plateau School ended library week by dressing up as a Roald Dahl or Dr Suess character. Everyone got to show off their wonderful costumes in a mini parade around the school. Here are some photos of Tuatara dressed up.

Thursday 15th September

This morning we got to design our own BFG (big friendly giant). We had to think about what it would look like, smell like, feel like, what it liked to do in its spare time etc. We are going to write about our giant next week.
Marie's giant
Hendrix's giant
Tessa's giant

After morning tea we got to plant some seeds. These were different herbs and veggies. We will wait patiently to see if anything grows. Fingers crossed! Each day a different person will be on water duty ☺️🌱🌱.

After lunch we got to go into the library and have an exciting visit from author Ruth Paul. She read us a story which she had written and illustrated. She then talked a little bit about the process of writing and publishing a book. Thank you Mrs Davidson for organising this.

Finally we participated in 'Clean Up NZ' and walked along Molloy's road to pick up all the rubbish we could find.

What a busy Thursday!

On Monday afternoon Plateau School participated in the Library Olympics for Library week. Mrs Davidson created lots of questions and activities to complete about Roald Dahl. Tuatara class competed against Kiwi, Paua, Kea and Ruru. After lots of answering questions, running, paper folding, colouring in and other activities......WE WON! Miss Collins was so proud of everyone in Tuatara because they all worked really hard and well as a team. Ka Pai!
One of the activities: Make a paper plane
