We are learning all about symmetry in mathematics. Today we are making symmetrical shapes with our talking buddies.

Today we did some more percussion using things in the classroom. We composed some beat music in groups and presented it to the class.

Problem solving

We are working really hard on problem solving during maths.  We are getting really good at working together and talking about our learning.

Families and whanau, can we try and work out how many buttons Mother Bear would need if she had 11 cubs together please?

Here we are doing our gallery walk.  That's the time when we can pinch ideas and try our friends strategies.

The Rolling Tuatara Rocker band

This ahiahi, we were learning about Body Percussion.  That means using our bodies as instruments to make music.  We wrote a piece of music and we gave our class band a name.  We were brilliant musicians who are getting really good at being body percussionists!

We are really proud of the contributions that Tuatara students make to our blog. Because young students are contributing independently there may be the odd spelling mistake!

Our holiday writing

Welcome back! It's so great to see our friends again and share our news. We are really lucky to have our new Tuatara friends: Telson, Kristina, Ysabellah, Sammie and Elisa.

This week we made a book about our trip to The Dowse. We also made someone thank you cards to the people who helped us on our trip.
